The importance of honeybees as a supplement to native bees in the pollination of lowbush blueberry has not been clearly established. Several workers have observed that native bees are not particularly abundant in blueberry fields during the period of bloom, and have suggested that fruit set maybe increased substantially by the use of honeybees
